A Gardener’s Diary

Thanks for all of you who have tried to follow the constantly changing schedule for when “A Gardener’s Diary” airs on HGTV.  I am sorry to report that it appears it is now on hiatus.  On there site it says to be continued…  when is the question.

Until then, happy gardening!

    Erica,

I wondered what had happened. I’m sure things will work out for the best. Thanks again for participating in our little event. You were great. Take care.

Thanks, Erica, for the notice. I just emailed HGTV today to ask about the program. I find that entire operation (HGTV) to be very frustrating in the scheduling and the types of programs they have been leaning towards. Not much in terms of gardening anymore. Do you have any options or recourse?

Well that’s sad. I guess it’s no longer HGTV just HTV.

Think writing HGTV will do any good? Don’t waste your time. I don’t think they have anyone on their staff that cares about answering inquires. At least they don’t have anyone that believes that they should reply to inquires. Sounds like it time for someone with deep pockets to start up a channel that is total gardening that would include all aspects of gardening, farming and ranching.

well now isn’t that a kick in the head the only show I care to watch and now we don’t know when it will be back

Very sad sure hope it’s soon, Cherry

  6. Faye Luckie says:

Very disappointing; yours was my favorite show on that network. What about PBS?

Now I know why my recordings are not happening…I just went through the whole week looking to see when Gardener’s Diary aired, but to no avail…it is without a doubt my favorite program on HGTV….
And I agree about writing HGTV…I can’t even figure out HOW to write to them…there is nothing on the site that says Contact HGTV…that I can see…does anyone know why…or can anyone tell me how to contact them and request the program be put back on the air?
    Thanks, Joanne Spengler

Wow! I am thoroughly dishearted with HGTV!

  9. Glenn Frisby says:

Gardener’s Diary is (was) the best program on HGTV. There really isn’t much gardening on HGTV. We do need a gardening channel. Writing probably won’t do any good.

  10. sorry to here that. now hgtv is a wast of my money, without you

I’m really sorry to see that HGTV has done this AGAIN. I’ve been a fan of A Gardener’s Diary since the beginning, and it makes me sad to think of all of the wonderful garden shows and specials that they used to air. I’ve written to them in the past and I doubt that it has done any good. HGTV is determined to be all about home makeovers, and nothing more. Hope they come to their senses and bring your show back, but in the meantime you have a wonderful website.

Like others have written, Gardener’s Diary was the best program on HGTV. Tired of all the homebuyer/home makover shows – yes, HGTV has left the gardening out of its lineup and that’s sad. Erica Glasener’s program was the most enjoyable program to view.

  13. Nice site! It really looks good. I have a really close friend who I think would enjoy your blog. I’ll definitly pass it on to him.

    Erica,

I LOVE your show, A Gardener’s Diary! The gardens are inspiring and you dear make me feel as if I were invited along for the magical journey. Thank you.

I don’t understand the reasoning behind the program schedule on HGTV. Now is the time, as we eagerly await the snow to melt, our forsythia to bloom and our early bulbs to awaken to spring, we create our own paradise in our dreams. And you dear feed our dreams.

I signed up for you emails and twitter to stay informed on your up coming activities.

I agree with the comments about HGTV. I have emailed them numerous times, and even was involved in an instant chat with someone on staff there, but no one really seems to care about the viewers’ opinions. I am very tired of the ‘quick fix’ shows, so superficial and noisy! Erica’s show was the one I looked forward to for the sensitivity and intelligence she shows regarding the gardens (and their owners).
